We had the opportunity to work with the client, the Municipality of Rogatec, a municipality in Slovenia, in the development of a VR application for Oculus Quest. The purpose of the project was to create an educational game about natural disasters, where the player must react correctly in the simulation of fire, earthquake and flood.
The development process began with a well-prepared research phase, where we gathered information about natural disasters and protection methods. We used the information to create detailed 3D models of the scenarios, which were then incorporated into the VR application. The game has been designed to be easy to navigate, with intuitive controls and clear labels to mark different locations in the simulation.
One of the main challenges we faced was making sure the VR experience was as realistic and immersive as possible. To achieve this, we used high-resolution textures and realistic lighting effects, and included sounds and instructions for the player.
The final product was a VR app that provided players with a unique and engaging way to learn about natural disaster safety. The municipality of Rogatec was very satisfied with the product, which was well received by the local community.
All in all, developing a VR application for Oculus Quest for the client Municipality of Rogatec was a challenging but at the same time very satisfying experience. It was inspiring for us to see how VR technology can be used to improve the way we learn and experience the world ok
